Are you a Procurement Specialist with a public sector background?

Working within the Healthcare Improvement Solutions team, other key internal stakeholders and crucially our clients to ensure procurement activities are optimised and delivered in a professional, safe, and efficient manner.

We are seeking exceptional highly motivated individuals with category experience, who are flexible and who can significantly contribute to the positive reputation of our business. The role is likely to focus on non-clinical categories in the Estates and Facilities Management, Digital and IT and Business Services areas. They will be responsible for developing and delivering procurement strategies in complex supply markets working with and on behalf of our customers.


This role can be based anywhere. The successful candidates must be able to commute to Salford for monthly collaborative meetings.


What you’ll be doing:

•  Leading Procurement processes (legal process, scoping, briefing, tendering, selection, evaluation, contract negotiation and management of suppliers)

•  Providing high quality customer focused procurement and service design advice to external customers whilst supporting the team in delivery of projects -acting as both a leader and a supporter.

•  Creating and maintaining positive, collaborative and supportive professional relationships with internal stakeholders and external customers, as well as actively generating and building relationships with new customers.

•  Being regarded as a trusted advisor to the customer’s senior team as well as an expert in the NHS and its strategic goals and policy drivers.

•  Acting as a senior point of advice for internal staff in terms of the commercial and assignment management aspects of project delivery.

•  Actively generating opportunities for future work through the ongoing development of professional networks of contacts across the NHS and wider public sector.

•  Horizon scanning in order to identify development and new opportunities for new and existing customers.


What you’ll bring:

•  Professional Qualification (or working towards) in Procurement (such as MCIPS) or related discipline (Contract Management, Supply Chain, Funding etc).

•  Experience of working in procurement, commissioning, bid writing or contract management team within the Public Sector.

•  Knowledge and skill in the Procurement process, (scoping, briefing, tendering, selection, contract negotiation, including service level agreements, and management of suppliers).

•  Market and product knowledge in some commodities as well as some knowledge and experience in conducting market research.

•  Demonstrable analytic skills (analysis of information, interpreting and presenting findings) and be able too report and provide evidence to the procurement team of savings and benefits delivered through the effective management of the vendor base.

•  Has a strong persuasion capability and is an active and contributing team member and the ability to manage conflicting situations.

•  Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, with peers and management.

•  Demonstrable willingness to travel as regularity of attendance will be required across all sites.


It would be great if you had:

➊   General commercial awareness.

➋  Ability to communicate in English on a familiar subject.

➌  Knowledge of EU/UK Procurement Policies, Procedures, and Processes as well as Procurement ERP systems, eSourcing tools, and MS Office.

➍  Experience working closely with multiple Government organizations and external third-party suppliers.

➎  Awareness of procurement compliance to instruct wider teams/clients.

Do you have a strong application architecture background, with experience in Application and or Infrastructure engineering before moving into Architecture? This could be the role for you!


As our Senior Solutions Architect will you join the team that defines the solutions architecture for medium to large scale, complex, medium risk or specialised assignments or pre-sales assignments that may lead to major lead to major downstream revenue opportunities. In addition, the Senior Solutions Architect will also define the solutions architecture for small to medium scale, complex, low to medium risk assignments or pre-sales assignments

What you will be doing:

•  Defining scope and deliverables for assignments with ‘client’ (may be internal or external) for the definition and execution of solutions architectures to integrate all of a client’s requirements

•  Delivering assignments in accordance with agreed scope, time, financial and quality measures

•  Ensuring effective client engagement and stakeholder management during assignment (may include management of subcontractors and partners)Completing assignment reviews with ‘clients’ at the end of each and every assignment (or six monthly for long term assignments

•  Tracking market trends and competitor activities in ‘specialist areas’ and ensure this data is utilised for the ongoing service development

What you will bring:

•  A strong application architecture background.

•  Experience with application/system integration and application programming interfaces (APIs) including RESTful and SOAP.

•  Experience of secure cloud solutions covering IaaS, PaaS and SaaS.

•  Experience in Amazon Web Services (AWS) would be particularly advantageous.

•   Experience in overseeing the implementation of end-to-end business processes across multiple platforms, including user interactions with secure on-line portals link to back-office systems.

•  Proven ability to establish business and technical direction, delivering architecture for clients aligned to business requirements and technology strategy.

•  Experience working with stakeholders and other IT colleagues to gather a thorough understanding of detailed functional and non-functional requirements and articulate the impact of any proposed change on the business systems, IT software and infrastructure landscapes.

•  Ability to design and build solutions that deliver the desired business objectives.

•  Ability to ensure that robust solution design documentation is produced that will effectively support successful solution build, test and support

•  Skilled in presenting technical issues and IT solution strategies to business stakeholders and other IT professionals enabling informed decisions to be made.


Would be great if you had:

•  Knowledge or certification in one or more IT architecture methodologies (e.g. TOGAF)

•  Experience in creating IT solution documentation/artifacts using standard industry best practice frameworks and methodology (TOGAF, ArchiMate) that are mapped to the business requirements, stories and benefits.

•  Experience of managing budgets and being commercially aware.

•  Experience of working across pre-sales, sales, finance, senior management and other key business areas.
